Materials and colors
Only highest quality materials are used. The original deserves only the best.

BIRKENSTOCK guarantees that all upper materials and lining materials are free of PCP, nickel sulphate and do not contain AZO colors.

Smooth Leather
Leather used by BIRKENSTOCK is thick, while remaining wonderfully supple. As leather is a natural product it shows individual characteristics. Since we do not use synthetic dyes the leather remains open - pored.

Suede
Only half of a hide can be used for BIRKENSTOCK's suede leathers. This leather is thick, yet supple and very comfortable to wear.

Nubuk Leather
BIRKENSTOCK's nubuk leather only comes from selected hides. Nubuk is a full-grain leather which has been buffed to velvety finish.

Birko-Flor and Birko-Flor Nubuk
Birko-flor is made of high spun synthetic fibre felt covered with a smooth finish. It is soft, breathable, rugged and easy to care for. Birko-Flor Nubuk looks like real leather and gives you the advantage of the lighter and smoother Birko-Flor material.

Birko-Felt
is a high quality material, which is made for BIRKENSTOCK exclusively. The extremely pleasant wearing sensation, which is achieved through high air and steam permeability, as well as the superb durability and toughness make this an outstanding material. Different colors are available for this material

Papore
is a new, high quality upper material, which is made for PAPILLIO exclusively, combining air and steam permeability, lightweight, abrasion-resistance, non-fading and non-running colors.

Polyurethane - PU
PU is durable, waterproof, washable up to 65°C and heat-, acid-, oil- and grease-resistant. It is produced environmentally friendly without use of solvents, CFC and FC. Therefore the PU is bio degradeable.

EVA
EVA is one of the most innovative and non-toxic materials on the market today. It combines lightweight with excellent mechanical characters like abrasion- and tear-resistance. In addition EVA is like PU 100% waterproof, washable up to 65°C and heat-, acid-, oil- and grease-resistant.

Suede Liners
The liners are made of supple suede which absorbs away moisture. Suede adheres perfectly to the cork footbed.

Thick Jute Fibres
BIRKENSTOCK's cork footbed is wrapped in two layers of jute fibres to increase flexibility and durability.

Natural Cork
BIRKENSTOCK's cork footbed is made of high quality cork / latex mixture, pressed into the patented contours of the original BIRKENSTOCK footbed.

Colors
BIRKENSTOCK's colors are allways fashionable and follow the different seasons. BIRKENSTOCK shoes do not contain AZO colors. Just take a look at the products and you will find your desired color.
 

Care & repair
Please take a look at the care products listed in the shop. You should find all you need there.
Ask your local shoestore for repair. If you like your BIRKENSTOCK shoes repaired with original parts such as soles and buckles just send us an e-mail or fax with your wishes. In future you can also buy these repair parts directly in the shop.

Guarantee
There is no lifetime guarantee for BIRKENSTOCK shoes because it is an article for every day use. Due to the high quality of the shoes, they will last for a long time. Please take care for the cork with cork-life and for the leather and Birko-Flor with a suitable care-spray or care-creme.
